PASEK\u2019s refractory factory in Llodares, Castrill\u00f3n, will begin generating 30% of its annual electricity consumption thanks to new solar panels installed at its production facilities. With this initiative, the company reinforces its commitment to self-consumption, cost reduction, and carbon footprint minimization in industrial production.

The \u20ac110,000 investment was carried out with the advice of Total Energies. The new equipment was presented by Pablo Cuervo-Arango Pire<\/a>, CEO of PASEK, and Juan \u00c1lvarez Rueda, Operations Director, during a meeting with the Director General of Energy and Mines, accompanied by the technical team from Total Energies.

The panels, installed on the ground within the company\u2019s perimeter, have a capacity of 98 kW. They are expected to cover between 20% and 25% of self-consumption during autumn months, while in summer this figure could reach 55\u201360%, depending on weather conditions. The estimated annual average is 30% of the plant\u2019s total electricity consumption.

As part of its sustainability strategy<\/a>, PASEK has progressively electrified its industrial operations to minimize environmental impact.

The equipment has a lifespan of 25 years, and the company expects to recover the investment within five years. Moreover, PASEK is considering expanding the solar installation, using both available land and building roofs to further increase photovoltaic generation.

This initiative extends beyond Asturias. At its mine in Galicia, PASEK has made a similar investment aimed at self-consumption. In that case, dust accumulation from mining activity requires regular maintenance to ensure optimal panel performance.

The installation is part of PASEK\u2019s decarbonization strategy, aligned with the European Union\u2019s goal of achieving climate neutrality in industrial activity by 2050.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
